Snow!!!

As a family of skiers and snowboarders, we love the snow, and have been looking forward to the nearly three weeks we had booked in the Alps. First stop, Leysin, Switzerland and its relatively small mountain (in our two days on the slopes, I think we covered every open trail).

Our Airbnb chalet was incredible. It dated back to the 1700s, but had been remodeled beautifully in the past 5 years. We were the second family to rent it and our host Angy and her husband were so helpful and welcoming.

Our trip into Switzerland was a bit eventful and included a few train hops to avoid boarder officials looking for PCR tests (we only had antigen tests), renting a car just across the German Boarder instead of Geneva, and driving to our chalet, then putting chains on our tires to get to our chalet which had about 3 feet of snow surrounding it (and a sheet of ice).

While in Switzerland, visited Gruyere for cheese and fondue, Callier for the most delicious chocolate, and Ben and I got a night out in Bern with Joanna (who had just finished her German River Cruise).

All in all, a fantastic time that got us even more excited to make it to our next chalet in France where we got to meet up with Ben’s mom Maddie and her friend Mona, hit the slopes for 5 more days, and celebrate Christmas.
