So much to “marvel” at

Today marks day 21 - three full weeks of travel - and the end to our time in Disneyland Paris. We’ve had a wonderful time riding all the rides (that matter to tweens) in the two parks. It was also special for my parents, who spent their honeymoon in Disney World in 1976!

Disneyland Paris is much smaller than Disney World, with only two parks - Disneyland and Disney Studios. However, it does have many of the same rides and some of our all time favorites like the (Big) Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror, and (Hyper) Space Mountain. Actually, those rides are even better than the ones in Disney World. We were excited to try the Indiana Jones roller coaster, but it was far to short a ride and so not one of our favorites. We all loved Crush’s Coaster and Ratatouille: The Adventure. Unfortunately, La Taniere du Dragon and La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant were closed due to renovations to Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Guess we’ll have to come back!

Thanks to our Disney points, we were able to stay in the newly opened Hotel New York the Art of Marvel. The hotel was beautiful, especially the artwork, and a short walk to both parks. Despite the short distance, we logged our longest day of walking yet - 22,816 steps just over 10 miles! Mom would like to add that she also swam 20 laps in the pool. Ben now realizes that I get my competitive spirit from my mother who jogged in place for 45 minutes while waiting in line for a ride just to beat me in total number of steps! And he thinks I’m crazy.
