Snapshot: There be Pirates Here! (in Luxembourg)

Make the trial lawyers walk the plank! This thing is amazing.

If you ask our children what they will remember best about Luxembourg it will not be the amazing city walls, the beautiful parks, the Christmas wonderland walking streets. It will 100% be the Pirate-ship playground.

I'm not sure it would be allowed in the United States. It was a multi-story wooden construction, surrounded by sand, - full of unexpected ropes, handhelds, and intentionally awkward ladders leading to slides or nets or nothing at all. Naturally, we played tag, eventually attracting a multi-lingual pack of kids. The nearby picnic table became covered in a pile of shed gloves, hats, coats as body heat overcame gloomy cold.

My back paid for my participation the next day, but the expression on Paul's face when I followed him through a jump off one of the platforms and around a sharp corner to tag him was well worth it.

We celebrated with some sausage, hot chocolate, cider, and french fries at a local winter market on our way home.

Nothing better on a cold day
